Sneak Peek 2

Got this idea a couple nights ago, ran with it. And I'm still running with it! I needed something new to write and this is what I came up with. Enjoy this sneak peek!

Prologue

Let's pretend my life is normal for just one-minute okay? On second thought...no one has a normal life, there's always something stuck in the middle of everything to make it shitty or unbearable. Mine isn't as shitty as most, it's more...I have the lesser power to make it the right way it has to be.

Let's start with the fact that a drunk who hunts monsters - not those shitty ones from the movies - real, actual monsters adopts me. Vampires (who don't sparkle, by the way), werewolves (ironically, silver bullets to the head work), lizard creatures (don't even get me started on that one), demons (the more popular of the evils in our world of candy and rainbows), and probably 20 million others that I don't even want to figure out how to kill.

I apparently have a sister too, according to Bobby Singer. He knew I hated the life of hunting, went off to do my own thing - got a job and putting myself through college. That was when I was 16 and didn't know better and thought I was Miss-Big-and-Bad. Her name is Zoe Singer, and mine is Roxi Holland. My legal name, my birth name.

My life was an "apple pie life", meaning you had money, a life outside of hunting, and retired from the job. I was going to college, enjoying my 20s but then something happened.

I found out what I was.

If a hunter is reading this, you know demons walk our Earth but what about those bastards with the feathery white wings and non-existed golden halos, huh? Demons have an opposite. I found out something - something important about myself.

That was until someone decided to play a trick on me. A trick that turned into more.

No one messes with a Trickster but no Trickster should piss off a Nephilim.

Nephilim may only have half of the power than a normal angel, but hell, I throw one hell of a punch.

Where I've Been

Molly, where the hell have you been?!

Simple answer: I've been focused on my current fanfiction and reading. 

What's the fanfiction? 

A Harry Potter one that is going to be a Fred/OC George/OC - I have everything pretty much figured out, minus the fact that I don't know what the ending will be. Will is be AU (alternate universe) or like the real Harry Potter ending where George ends up with Fred's girl? 

Who are the characters? 

Lacie Black and Izadora Fitzpatrick (yes, I like the unique names). Lacie is, obviously, Sirius Black's daughter. Izadora is the daughter of two Death Eaters and was supposed to be placed in Slytherin but fought against it to be in Ravenclaw. Lacie and Iza are best friends even though Iza's father doesn't want them to nor does the Slytherins Lacie's friends with want Izadora near her. 

Who ends up with who?

Since I don't know the ending, I know for a fact that is it Izadora and Fred and Lacie and George. There will be tension between the girls while dating the Twins probably starting in HP4. One of the girls will start dating their Twin in HP3, I just don't know when. 

What are your ideas for the ending?

Either Iza saves Fred at the very end or Lacie dies. ;)

What year does it start in?

First-year. The girls meet the opposite Twin they end up with, or do they?

You said you've been reading. Reading what?

Harry Potter, of course. I'm giving myself this challenge that I must read the whole Harry Potter series in one month, giving myself 3 days exactly to read each one - that's a give or take for 5-7 because I've never read them before. I stopped right at the beginning of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, when my mom said she wouldn't allow me to read it. Her favorite character died, Sirius. 

I read The Sorcerer's Stone in 3 hours and 50 minutes in a span of 2 day. Read Chamber of Secrets in one day, a span of about 4 hours, give or take. I'm currently on Prisoner of Azkaban, haven't exactly started it but I'm going to start tonight, I've got nothing to watch anyway! Take a break from writing. Bekah's traveling so, she'll need something to do over her vacation to Florida! 

Rebekah Caroline, you BETTER go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter  and bring me back something! Something Slytherin! Haha, you don't have to, I'm only joking...maybe ;) If you don't go, I will personally kill you for not going!

Writing Characters

So, today, I thought I'd type out all the information on the characters I'm currently writing about. I want to show you how I write them and how I block it out. 

So, let's use a few examples, like Supernatural, Harry Potter, Once Upon a Time, and Torchwood. We'll start with the simple ones, Torchwood and Supernatural. Now, I have two different ways you can block out your character. So, for example Evie and Lily, it would look something like this:

Because I've written Evie and Lily for 6 FanFictions, not everything is there. There used to be a lot more than that but right now, I'm thinking about ending it so, some of the info isn't on there because I know Bekah reads my blog and I don't want to ruin my ideas. 

You see, I like to write and I like to write multiple FanFictions of one thing. So, I also have this way of blocking out my characters:

Now, Torchwood is easier, you can use this for anything really. If you're writing a novel, you can use this, this isn't difficult.

The reason I put EXTRA on there is because, there might be something that doesn't need a category or I can't think of a category like the Immortal or Mortal part, it will just go into EXTRA. 

Now, let's get a little more difficult, a little more detail. Let's start with Harry Potter then Once Upon a Time. Harry Potter, there's a lot of details you need to make a good HP fic...good. This is how I block the characters out - let's check out my character Alexandria:

I think the most difficult one for me is that I'm starting a Once Upon a Time fic and planning out my characters, making sure every detail is right and knowing what to keep in and keep out. Let's look at both of the characters I'm in the process of writing about. You'll see question marks in some parts because it's not perfect and I'm not sure about the other things yet.

You really don't want to go half-assed and start a story and find out that you didn't have all the information you need. The Torchwood one would work for Doctor Who too. Probably Supernatural or any other story because a backstory is a good thing to have. I've learned that over the years on FanFiction. Right now, I'm trying to make sure my characters aren't Mary-Sues. Don't even get me started on that!

Writing Ideas

If you write, you know writing ideas are precious things. Things that come and go with a snap of a finger - yeah, that quick. And they can happen at any time of day, mine are usually after midnight when I'm half asleep and not in my right mind. Plus, I'm usually listening to music at the same time.

My inspiration comes from music, TV shows, movies, and everyday life. Mainly music and movies. If you looked at my iTunes purchase playlist right now, you'd see that I'm a music fiend. You have no idea how many songs I have. Let's put it this way, if you wanted to listen to all the music on my iTunes purchase playlist, it would take you exactly 5 days and this list gains music about almost every week. 

Inspiration will hit me at anytime of day/night. Right now I'm in the progress of rewriting this Harry Potter fanfic so my character (Emmalee) doesn't sound like a Mary-Sue. Yeah, that will get it's own post soon, I promise. So, I had this idea for months in the works and every time I tried to write it, it was terrible. I didn't like it, Bekah loved it but I couldn't get it right.

So, I thought and thought and thought and thought for months!

It hit me when I was reading this FanFiction, I would put the link to it but I don't remember the title or the author. I think she/he might have taken it down. It was brilliant! It involved Harry time-traveling back to his first-year of Hogwarts. Changing the outcome and becoming stronger to defeat Voldemort. It was a Harry/Luna fic, so if you think you found it, please tell me. I would love to reread it - I'm acting like it was a complete fic or something. He was placed in Ravenclaw over Gryffindor, if that helps.

I thought, "Time travel, that's a great idea! People have done time-travel HP stories before. How about I just change it up a bit and make it my own?" And, I started to write it. That's when I posted the prologue and someone had the nerve to review and say, "I spy a Mary-Sue." after one frickin' chapter. How about you get to know my character before you bad-mouth her? 

Emmalee is a complex character, and you think you know her after one chapter. Gee, thanks. 

Any who, I just was hit with an idea, making it different that before. I'm happy with the idea now. I'll bet Bekah will love this new idea anyway, better than before. I'm excited with this new idea. Now, I just have to write it in the next 7 hours or so. 

Hopefully Bekah answers my texts soon...

Writing

Since you don't know me too much, I thought I'd tell you that I've been writing stories, short stories, novels, fanfictions since I was in the 7th grade.

My first story was a mystery that turned into a life story thing that got scrapped after the final chapter of the final story. It was like a four book series that turned terrible quickly on. I completely bypassed the mystery and went straight to the relationship aspect of it. It was the best thing I wrote. It was all terrible - it was in the middle of the page, like only 50 pages, and I never had the characters in it for too long. It was simply terrible, I look back now and go, "Molly, what the FUCK were you thinking writing that?" Thankfully that's in the past and I don't even have the computer it was on anymore.

That took place between 7th to about 10th grade. I learned a lot more between those four years of schooling. I wasn't the best, I knew that and my friends were being nice and say it was great. I knew the truth. That led me into wanting to be an English major early on in high school, forgetting what I wanted to be in elementary school - to this day I still know what I wanted to be, a vet, but now looking back - I can't handle seeing sick animals, especially throwing up ones.

Anyway, back on topic, I knew I had to get better so I started a series called...actually, I don't even remember what it was but it was about the time I found my cousins on FaceBook and started to interact with them again. It was about my first ever crush (his name was Caleb) and a boy I used to play with when I was little. I had the biggest crush on both of them and I wrote about it. I got pretty far until I found out my friend actually dated Caleb and never told me about it. I scrapped it at that moment.

That lead me to Rebel Act, Karma Act, and Selfish Act. And yet, another failed attempt at a serious trilogy that got rewritten more than once under so many different names (Perfect Disaster and Don't Forget Me). It was scrapped a fews ago because I really couldn't get into it.

Recently, the last two years, I've been trying to write this winter novel for NaNoWriMo but so far, I've scrapped them before I got to the end. This year I got closer but then I got a new idea right towards the end, so I'm going to try this year.

So, on FanFiction (History is Made a Night and True to Your Heart), I have a lot of different fandoms I write about. Like Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, National Treasure, Eureka, Sherlock, Castle, and Harry Potter so far. A Consulting Detective's Babysitter is the popular one of mine, well, popular to me. Probably not to everyone else but when I have 24, 021 and counting, that's a lot. Plus reviews, favorites and alerts, it's a lot in my book.

My second popular story is Daeva and the Fallen: The Angel, the second in the six part Daeva and the Fallen/Angel series I've created.

Third is my Castle fic, entitled: Crime More Than Passion.

I'm known for my OCs. OC means Original Character but I'm branching out lately - trying to get stories out there that don't require an OC but it's a bit difficult. Anyway, that's my writing story. It wasn't like "oh, I need an outlet" it was more of *BOOM!* write.

I totally forgot to mention in yesterday's post that my FictionPress account is: Salem Mystery Project. It's not mystery project right now but I'm trying to write my own stuff again. It will take time for me to update but I'm happy with what I've got so far.
