NaNoWriMo Prep #1

No blog post tonight that involves Sleepy Hollow even though I said every week. Yeah, I lied, apparently. 

But I am here to talk about prep for NaNoWriMo. It's coming up and I need to get ready for it! And it hit me as I was sleeping. And I began thinking and it just came together. I have 'face claims', I have a general plot, I have the climax, a subtle romance, and I just did the cover. 

I'm very excited for NaNo this year! 

I'm so definitely getting 50,000 words, just like last year!

NaNoWriMo Update

Yep, I was gone for while with NaNo - sowwy. 

Anyway this is going to be from November 8th though today, November 18th. 

November 8th - November 11th: 30,654 

I took a break for four days since I hit 30K, it actually was a bad thing to do but in the end, I'm a winner.

November 12th: 32,034

November 13th: 33,899

November 14th: 36,229

November 15th: 38,504

November 16th: 42,000

November 17th: 46,280

November 18th: 53,379

Yep, I've gotten to 50K in the span of 18 days!! Well, technology 14 days since I took a four day break between for a few days. 

I'm a winner before the 20th! My goal day!! 

Hope everyone is having fun and not too stressed yet.

NaNoWriMo Week One Update

Yesterday was one week since NaNo started and I started off fantastic! Ahead of schedule. I'm way ahead of schedule! 

I'm actually taking a four day break from NaNo because of how far I am. 

Day One (November 1st, 2013): 6,142 words completed. 

Day Two (November 2nd, 2013): 13,120 words completed.

Day Three (November 3rd, 2013): 17,828 words completed.

Day Four (November 4th, 2013): 21,798 words completed.

Day Five (November 5th, 2013): 24,643 words completed.

Day Six (November 6th, 2013): 28,132 words completed. 

Day Seven (November 7th, 2013): 30,654 words completed. 

I wrote over 30K words in seven days. 

That is a new record for me! I usual just write the 1,667 words a day thing to keep up. I was never on track until this year with Legacy Returns. It seriously was all that planning I did the couple of days before I did. 

If you are planning on doing NaNo, maybe you are late or maybe waiting for next year, do major planning. Don't go half-assed into it. I've done that two years in a row and didn't get anywhere. 

I hope NaNo isn't stressful yet!

NaNoWriMo

NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month, and this will be my third year doing it. 

I 'lost' the first year.

I 'won' the second year. 

I want to win again this year. :) 

NaNoWriMo is writing a novel that's got at least 50,000 words in a span of 30 days. It starts next month.

Is anyone else just realize that NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) is 2 weeks and 6 days away? 

It just hit me that NaNoWriMo is coming up - I’ve been more excited for Halloween than the first of November. 

I have no idea what I want to write about! 

This is my third year do it - and I accomplished last year with over 50,000 words. Will I be able to do it this year? 

Urg, I’m not ready for this. 

Gotta start thinking what I want to write about. I have ideas but I don’t know to choose. 

October 13th, 2013:

I already have a problem - I can’t focus on my main character. 

Yeah, not good. 

As I write out her description, my mind wanders - thinking about how she’d be portrayed in the novel (Heart by Heart), then I think about the changes I should make to the original idea. That happens, now I’ve added more and more things to her that I don’t remember who she was in the beginning. 

I doodle when I think - that’s good and bad. 

I think it’s time to listen on repeat Demi Lovato’s song, Heart by Heart (which the novel is inspired by) to get me back on track. 

NaNoWriMo is going to be the death of me. 

October 17th, 2013:

Yes, another NaNoWriMo post. We are slowing approaching single digits and I’m not completely ready.

In the words of Chuck from Supernatural, “Writing is hard.”

Most of my characters of blocked out (thank you Novel Ideas app, a lifesaver!).

Characters - semi-CHECK. I keep thinking of more and more characters. Guess I’m having supporting characters…

Title - CHECK!!

Plot - no where near checking point. I’ve gotten general idea but, there’s no real plot. Those plot bunnies (I prefer plot demons or plot angels) aren’t helping right now.

Knowing what I want - CHECK-ish… I kind of know how I want to start and end it - it’s that middle that gets me stuck…

If you guys want to “friend” me (is that what it’s called?) my name is ElyseAllHeart. Yeah, uh, don’t ask. It was the only username that wasn’t taken three years ago.

I still need a playlist to keep my motivation. One song doesn’t exactly make a playlist.

I’ll be needing motivation - I always lose motivation like 10 days in. That’s bad. Really bad.

But a warning to my followers, I’ll be probably venting on Tumblr and my personal blog throughout the month - if you want to unfollow me until the end of November - I completely understand.

October 19th, 2013:

I promise this is my last post about NaNoWriMo until November 1st with my first word count!

Anyway - all my characters have been blocked out, scenes are starting to come together, my playlist (took me over 25 minutes to create) is playing and ready for November 1st.

Plus, post-it notes are becoming my best friend. Isn’t that sad?

I’m still iffy on my title - Heart by Heart - but I started writing! I don’t know if that isn’t or is allowed but I’ve got a beginning! :D

That makes me EXTREMELY happy! The last two years, I didn’t have a beginning until like 8PM, November 1st.

As for the plot… Don’t even get me started. The plot demons are pushing me ideas and I just can’t get the plot down. It’s like I need to continuing writing before I see the plot came out.

I mentioned a playlist - it’s been complete (well, for now). 70 songs, this could change by tomorrow after I listen to all the songs and see if they go along with my characters and ideas and hopeful plot.

Writing

Since you don't know me too much, I thought I'd tell you that I've been writing stories, short stories, novels, fanfictions since I was in the 7th grade.

My first story was a mystery that turned into a life story thing that got scrapped after the final chapter of the final story. It was like a four book series that turned terrible quickly on. I completely bypassed the mystery and went straight to the relationship aspect of it. It was the best thing I wrote. It was all terrible - it was in the middle of the page, like only 50 pages, and I never had the characters in it for too long. It was simply terrible, I look back now and go, "Molly, what the FUCK were you thinking writing that?" Thankfully that's in the past and I don't even have the computer it was on anymore.

That took place between 7th to about 10th grade. I learned a lot more between those four years of schooling. I wasn't the best, I knew that and my friends were being nice and say it was great. I knew the truth. That led me into wanting to be an English major early on in high school, forgetting what I wanted to be in elementary school - to this day I still know what I wanted to be, a vet, but now looking back - I can't handle seeing sick animals, especially throwing up ones.

Anyway, back on topic, I knew I had to get better so I started a series called...actually, I don't even remember what it was but it was about the time I found my cousins on FaceBook and started to interact with them again. It was about my first ever crush (his name was Caleb) and a boy I used to play with when I was little. I had the biggest crush on both of them and I wrote about it. I got pretty far until I found out my friend actually dated Caleb and never told me about it. I scrapped it at that moment.

That lead me to Rebel Act, Karma Act, and Selfish Act. And yet, another failed attempt at a serious trilogy that got rewritten more than once under so many different names (Perfect Disaster and Don't Forget Me). It was scrapped a fews ago because I really couldn't get into it.

Recently, the last two years, I've been trying to write this winter novel for NaNoWriMo but so far, I've scrapped them before I got to the end. This year I got closer but then I got a new idea right towards the end, so I'm going to try this year.

So, on FanFiction (History is Made a Night and True to Your Heart), I have a lot of different fandoms I write about. Like Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, National Treasure, Eureka, Sherlock, Castle, and Harry Potter so far. A Consulting Detective's Babysitter is the popular one of mine, well, popular to me. Probably not to everyone else but when I have 24, 021 and counting, that's a lot. Plus reviews, favorites and alerts, it's a lot in my book.

My second popular story is Daeva and the Fallen: The Angel, the second in the six part Daeva and the Fallen/Angel series I've created.

Third is my Castle fic, entitled: Crime More Than Passion.

I'm known for my OCs. OC means Original Character but I'm branching out lately - trying to get stories out there that don't require an OC but it's a bit difficult. Anyway, that's my writing story. It wasn't like "oh, I need an outlet" it was more of *BOOM!* write.

I totally forgot to mention in yesterday's post that my FictionPress account is: Salem Mystery Project. It's not mystery project right now but I'm trying to write my own stuff again. It will take time for me to update but I'm happy with what I've got so far.
