Hello, I thought I'd talking about my new phone and the reason I hated the iPhone for the longest time until now.
You see, when the iPhone originally came out, I wanted it but of course, Sprint didn't offer the iPhone. So I went with a different touch screen phone until we either changed providers or the iPhone became available to Sprint.
There's nothing wrong with my phone, I have the Samsung Optimus S and it's a great phone. Did everything I wanted - I could text like a normal touch screen phone, could play apps, could do pretty much everything an iPhone had. Then Sprint offered the iPhone about 5 months after I got my new phone in January of Junior year of high school. I was pretty pissed at Sprint, I would have waited it out if I knew then.
Anyway, I saw so many people in my high school having iPhones, and of course, my logic thinking was, I don't need to follow in their footsteps. My Optimus S is perfect and I'll have it for a long time (granted that was Junior year and I'm almost 2 years out of high school) while everyone else is upgrading to the next iPhone.
So enough as high school ended, I didn't use my S anymore. It doesn't get enough love as it is with my iPod Touch 4th generation. The only person I text anymore is Bekah and that's through iMessage because its free from any iPhone, iPod, and iPad. So we would just text through Messages that was until she got an iPhone.
Her plan was open in high school and she was still in the dark-ages, if you know what I mean. She had a phone like my Mom, a classic flip keyboard one. The one she had through out high school. It finally bit the dust a couple of weeks before she got the phone with the money her grandfather gave her. So, she joined the iPhone 'club' me and friends would always joke about.
Now, my plan was up about a year ago and I didn't know about you see. I personally didn't care about what phone I got when I found out, not like I was able to get one anyway. It was right around Christmas I found out so, that was a no-go in my Mom's book. Besides, we were thinking about switching to a different cell provider. We were thinking about switching over to Verizon since we already have our Verizon email and she pays for something through Verizon. When I looked on the Verizon site, I either wanted a Droid or iPhone - more a Droid than anything. I really like those Droid ads!
But, we're sticking with Sprint because my mom's co-workers who have Verizon and AT&T say, not go to them. Its more money than on Sprint. We're only paying about $180 for three phones with two being unlimited everything! Mine is unlimited the moment I entered 8th grade, I may or may not have gone over my texting limit in 7th grade when I first got the phone. Who doesn't do that anyway when they first get a phone? Besides I had a lot of friends who had phones, new phones for a new year. :)
Now that we're sticking with Sprint, my Mom just said, "Get the iPhone, you know you want it." And, she was right. So I'm going into the iPhone club... not that I'm not excited to get a new phone, I totally am! It's just...I really wanted this case that someone on a TV show has....
*cough, bought* Shawn Spencer *cough, cough* on Psych *cough, cough*
Yeah, so I'm getting the green Psych case!! Two of my favorite things - Psych (which comes back in 17 days, but who's counting...) and the color green. The green is only because I'm in Slytherin on Pottermore and their colors are green and silver.
That's coming in the mail sometime this week or next from the NBC store. My mom is getting an iPhone too, just an FYI. So, she's getting this Grimm case that is on backorder... yeah, backorder. Hopefully by the time our phones come (we haven't ordered them yet), her case will arrive.
Oh, I'm planning on getting the iPhone 64 GB! I haven't had a 64GB apple product before, I really wanted a 32GB but they don't have it in brand new, only in used. Yeah, I don't want a used phone. My mom is getting the 16GB when she only needs an 8GB. She was originally going to get the iPhone 4 through Sprint but it's only for new line.
Of course, I'm getting the black iPhone. I don't like the white one, even though I've had my white iPod for a year and its not bad - I just don't like the color against the case. I think my mom is going to get the black one too. God, how are we going to tell them apart now?
So, until tomorrow,
-Molly
